Vacation rental house manual checklist
A room-by-room checklist for creating a useful, guest-friendly house manual.
Your house manual should make the property easier to enjoy and safer to use. This checklist covers the information most short-stay guests expect to find.

Arrival and access
Include address, directions, parking, entry, security, check-in time and what guests should do if they arrive early.

Comfort and appliances
Cover Wi-Fi, heating and cooling, hot water, kitchen appliances, entertainment, laundry and any property-specific controls.

Safety and house rules
List emergency contacts, exits, alarms, pool or hot tub guidance, quiet hours, smoking and pet policies.

Departure
Set out checkout time, key return, dishes, waste, thermostat settings and any final security steps.
